O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth; That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me. God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph. Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts? Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Middle East Update: Interesting Summer? July 12, 2008Posted by Watchman in Bible Prophecy, Day of the Lord, Fulfilling Prophecy, Gog/Magog, Isaiah 17, Islam, Israel.
In case you’ve just joined the Watchman Newsletter or have not yet seen some of the stories linked from it, my current theory in light of what I’ve studied from the Bible and seen in current events reported here is as follows. (I’m just watching and reading in prayer, so in all things hold to Acts 17:11.)
The attack of Ezekiel 38 & 39 where Iran, Russia, Turkey, Libya and friends attempt to destroy Israel and God destroys them with fire and brimstone from heaven, will come before the abomination of desolation and indeed be the event that both quiets the opposition and cause a spiritual shift in the nation of Israel that will lead to the rebuilding of the temple for the third time in several millennia.
Ezekiel 38:2-6; 16-23
Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.
And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them? And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face. For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother. And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD. And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD. So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
From these passages, I believe that the Magog armies will be pulled into a confrontation with Israel. (hooks in their jaws) God’s destruction will be expressed in natural form with fire and brimstone from heaven. Even though things happening in the nature are usually discouraged from association with God’s design, the timing of the natural event with the attack will be a clear trumpeting of Bible prophecy as being real and present in a concrete manner for most. Some may remain in denial, but anyone who knows anything about Bible prophecy will be awake and aware.
Israel has God’s Word intertwined with them and even though they can’t see the fulfillments of the shadows in Yeshua, this is clear and from the Tahakh, Old Testament. So while Israel has not accepted the Meshiach Nagid as presented in prophecy at the triumphal entry, their faith will be strengthened and it is my belief that the Nation of Israel will return to the ways of their fathers and require the rebuilding of a temple to begin the sacrifices again setting up the way for the abomination of desolation and the beginning of the time of Jacob’s trouble. More on the Temple Mount here.
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: [abomination of desolation] and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

In the course of studying Bible prophecy and watching current events, a series of events became clear that I would like to lay out for you here. It began with my personal search through the Bible to see for myself if God’s Word clarified itself to the point of the bride of Christ being able to understand the times in which we live. I had read in the Bible that we would not be in darkness and that we should watch and pray, but there are so many personal interpretations of scripture out there and I hadn’t taken the time to really search the scriptures myself because I didn’t feel I had the background to understand. So acknowledging my deficiencies, I came before the Lord in prayer and asked Him to reveal His Word through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and show me His plans and not my own desires or interpretations of His plans.
This doesn’t mean I’m always right and this is not a claim to have all the answers. I will never stop warning people not to take my word for anything but to search the scriptures themselves to see whether these things are so. Acts 17:11 The Watchman Bible Study website is the result of my search for Truth and my desire to share the clarity I’ve discovered written into and interpreted by the Bible. While I am not always correct the Bible is, and so if this sequence of events does not turn out to be completely accurate that doesn’t change the Bible’s validity, just shows my lack of full understanding.
What I would like to focus on in this post is a collection of diverse prophesies found throughout the Bible in the order of events as understood through examining the context of these prophesies in light of the HIStory, Our Future Bible studies. The premise of this collection of research by other watchmen on the wall traces Israel’s judgment history through time and showing how that snaps to Israel’s feast days and the 70th week of Daniel, the final seven years of God dealing with Israel before His return in glory. These studies examine the precision of Bible prophecy and history to build faith in what was already fulfilled with 100% accuracy to look toward the future with faith that God’s Word will again be fulfilled in the future with that same accuracy. According to Matthew 24:14,15 “the end” comes at the abomination of desolation, which the HIStory, Our Future Bible studies place in just under one year (February 16, 2009) from today (March 3, 2008).
I am not lost on the significance of making a statement like this, but I am sure if you examine the information at the links provided, you too will see the significance of what I am going to share. Please also note that while this post is focusing on Bible prophecy that is 100% accurate in its future fulfillment, there isn’t the kind of precise dates connected to them and so the timing is my estimation based on my research. This is this watchman’s perspective on what may come to pass in 2008 and how that will explain and connect to the HIStory, Our Future conclusions for the timing of the 70th week of Daniel and the abomination of desolation that will transpire in the midst of that seven years – 2009.
The Threat Against Israel July 14, 2007Posted by Watchman in Isaiah 17, Islam, Israel.
If Israel attacks Iran, Assad will attack Israel with proxy forces from Hizbollah in Lebanon and his own in the Golan, so may Egypt and Jordan, in a repeat of the Yom Kippur war. They saw Israel consumed on one front and tried to open another. We know what happened there. Israel’s military has completely re-written its op-plan after last summer’s war. It is likely that its generals will be told to go “hot” and use everything in their power to win. This could mean battlefield nukes or even a strategic nuclear attack on Damascus (the anticipated Is. 17).Think also about what may happen in Pakistan. We are probably looking at having to send in ground forces to Islamabad Karachi to secure nuclear technology in the wake of a collapse of Musharraf’s government. A US involvement in Iran will undoubtedly result in the ejection or assassination of Musharraf. If we fail to secure Pakistan’s nukes, we’re in big trouble and so is Israel. This is probably the only pin keeping the grenade from going off.
The US does not want a regional war because it means that we have to secure Iraq against an exodus of Syrian refugees into Anbar, it means we have to take on the Iranian Navy, it means we have to defend the Straits of Hormuz, and it means that we may even be attacked by Israel in the process.
Israel has allegedly come darn close to attacking its American ally in Iraq, in an attempt to drop a 20 kiloton weapon on Hamadan, a major Iranian weapons base. In essence, this whole thing is a powder keg waiting to go off, and I wouldn’t put anything past Assad. If major fighting breaks out, most in the region will likely consider it all or nothing. I don’t think this will be the Ezekiel 38/39 war (the magog force will take time to assemble… but they rehearsed it in late 2006), but it could pre-announce it by only a few weeks or months. If there is an attack against Iran or Syria, it will probably be brief and devastating to both Syria and Iran.
Here’s a little graphic I cooked up to show the threat more visually. Feedback welcome.
